Eugene, OR

We spent a few days in Eugene, OR to regroup and explore the McKenzie River Valley so loved by author Barry Lopez, whom Sue had met in the 1980’s during her time in Arizona and had seen more recently at a Free Library of Philadelphia author event.

“To put your hands in a river is to feel the chords that bind the earth together.” -Barry Lopez

We started our visit to the area with a walk through the Mount Pisgah Arboretum.

Joe communing with the friendly arboretum foliage.

The next day we visited the McKenzie River Valley and cycled on the Covered Bridges Scenic Bikeway past bridges, lake views, foliage and flowers and historic downtown Cottage Grove, OR. We were reminded that this is Sasquatch country and to maintain our COVID vigilance!

That video! I’m still laughing at Joe waving at the leaves. 😀
