Hidden Hills Vineyard & Winery

This Harvest Host is located in Galesburg, IL off of Interstate 74 at County Route 9. The address is Galesburg but the winery is just 1.3 miles from downtown Knoxville, IL. It’s a convenient stop for the night if you’re passing through or plan to visit Knoxville.

Tasting Room

Hidden Hills is a family-owned winery and vineyard operated by David Poland and co-owned by Chancey and Holly Weidenhamer. The vineyard was started in 2007 and the owners broke ground on the winery in 2017. The fruit was first sold to Kickapoo Creek Winery in Edwards Illinois and is now used to produce Hidden Hills’ wines.

Friends and family did all the interior finishing of the building. From drywall, ceiling and electric to building the bar and they did a phenomenal job. The tasting room is spacious and beautiful. In addition to the tasting room, there is a covered patio and a large event space.

We tried a selection of dry and sweet wines. The Chardonnay and Red Blend were our favorites.

If wine is not your drink of choice, Hidden Hills offers a selection of local beers, hard seltzers and soft drinks.

They have bagged snacks and pizza for sale but be sure to pack dinner in your rig if you want a full meal. We enjoyed the sausage and cheese pizza.

There is a Love’s Travel Stop adjacent to the Winery. Literally, right next door! Being a 24-hour operation, Love’s does produce some noise and light pollution but it didn’t bother us and we got a good night’s sleep.

Parking is on gravel and there was plenty of room even for large 5th wheels and Class A RVs. We highly recommend Hidden Hill Vineyards.

We are leaving for Pella, Iowa in the morning. Thanks for following along.
