This is another community “campground”, although much smaller than the one in Barnesville, MN. With only 3 sites, this first-come first-served “campground” is primarily a courtesy overnight stop. Located at the community pool and playground, the “campground” offers electrical hookups and a sewer dumping station.

At the requested $20 a night, this is a true bargain. There are two bathrooms with showers available at no extra cost. There is also a dumpster for trash.

One problem we ran into is that the sewer dump connections were a little high for our RV. Trailers should not have a problem using the dump station, but it was not useful for us. Because of its small footprint, this campground is best for Class B and B+ rigs and short trailers.

We were there on a Saturday night and there was not much open in town. If you use Apple Maps, the directions are not correct, and in fact, they are way off. We reported the error to Apple. Just look for the Bowbells Water Tower and community pool as that’s where this overnight camping spot is located. We found it thanks to the young man cutting grass at the purported location who mumbled, “Water Tower” when we asked.

We plan to cross the border into Canada tomorrow after attending Mass at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, which is literally a three-minute walk around the corner from the campground. We laughed when we took a walk the night before to ensure that we would leave enough time to walk there the next morning!

We are grateful to the Bowbells community for thinking of RV travelers, and providing accommodations for us, and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
