As mentioned in our previous post, we elected to stay at Harvest Hosts on the way home. Because we were planning to drive for four days and would not have access to a place to fill our fresh water tank, we showered before leaving Port Charlotte and ensured that we had a full tank of fresh water and an empty grey tank. This would allow us both to take quick showers during our four-day trip home. We had ample clean clothes, too!

Harvest Hosts are great for travel days. At the end of our drive we park the RV and have drink and food (usually) waiting for us.

Our first stop on the ride home was Grace Note Brewing in Jacksonville, Florida. Located in a small row of commercial buildings at the entry to Windward Sadler Point Marina, this is exactly the type of business that we never would have visited had we not chosen to travel by RV.

The pub was started in 2023 by two friends and fellow bandmates, bassist Jeremy Baker and guitarist James Trimble. Musical themes are integrated into the business name, the decor and even the beer names.

The pub has over ten beers on tap with more than 6 Pale or English ales. The pub only serves packaged snacks as it does not have a kitchen. However, there is a restaurant right next door, Hightide Burrito, which serves food.

Of the beers we sampled, the Perfect Pitch Pale Ale was our favorite. A nice New England style Pale Ale. Even the flight holder (shown above) is in the shape of a guitar neck.

The parking lot does not have space for long trailers or fifth-wheels. Our Plateau XLTS is only 22’9″ and we had to park with our tail hanging over a parking curb. This host rightly limits RVs to 25 feet or less.

We had a fairly quiet night. The adjacent Marina opens at seven AM so don’t expect to sleep in. This is the city, after all. We had a fun evening and will definitely stay again the next time we pass through Jacksonville.
